What is a foot and ankle surgeon?

I am proud to be an MD. Beyond my specialty of orthopedic surgery and my subspecialty in the Foot and Ankle, I am a doctor first. I want to understand your overall health, including conditions like diabetes, obesity, and vascular disease that impact the lower extremities.

As an orthopedic surgeon, I am passionate about caring for the body as a whole. My background gives me a deep understanding of musculoskeletal conditions from the fingertips to the spine. While focusing on your foot or ankle problem, I will be able to diagnose contributing issues and help you find the right subspecialist doctor to take care of it.

I pursued an ACGME-accredited fellowship in foot and ankle surgery, which is the highest-level training experience in conditions of the lower extremity. This allowed me to learn specialized techniques like total ankle replacement, autograft tendon reconstructions and minimally invasive surgery, which general orthopedic surgeons rarely do. Fellowship made me appreciate more than ever the unique, powerful and dynamic nature of our feet and the importance of properly taking care of them.
